Re: Lightmaps breaking issueHey, the concern originally occured in 4.12 but has cropped up in a brand-new 4.13 project. I've done extensive testing over the previous few days and I believe I've concentrated it down to being structured on lightmap quality in my situation. If I force the lightmap resolution beyond 1024 (2048 in my tests) the build almost often produces this issue.
This would describe why it doesn't appear to have been noticed much just before right now; I'm guessing most developers try out to stick at 1024 or below.The tricky part is usually, once it happens nothing maintenance tasks it, also reducing lightmaps back down to 1024. And occasionally when it happens it doesn't display up all scary and broken like the image I submitted, it simply doesn't update lightmaps correctly. I spent time asking yourself why my dark areas weren't improving in the history and it had been this problem.

Eventually it does break entirely and if you've saved since then the picture seems to become permanently damaged in terms of lighting. So essentially, it can sort of hide around in your picture and after that mess up everything when you start to focus on lighting plots. The solution in this situation, at minimum as far as I've found, can be to reduce the lightmaps, migraté everything to á fresh new task and picture and construct again.It would certainly be excellent if anyone understood even more about why this can be taking place, I'm planning of reporting it as a pest. Re: Lightmaps breaking issueYou're also definitely best heartlessphil! Back again at Unreal Answers we've simplified it down to texture loading. Disabling texture streaming altogether will get the broken lightmaps looking normal once again (at the cost of generally piling the engine). Sadly, I've always arranged the poolsize tó 4096 and this certainly not appears to repair the concern. If I fixed a single lightmap to 2048, the texture streaming fractures. If I arranged a hundred Iightmaps to 1024, no issue, which is certainly odd to me. It's also unusual that raising pool size doesn'capital t seem to repair the issue.

Reconstructing lighting after decreasing all 2048 lightmaps appears to end up being the best remedy. I discovered a great window at Construct Lighting Information Light StaticMesh Information. Which shows the lightmap size of all works, it helps make sure there are usually no 2048 lightmaps hiding somewhere.In the thread on.modular wall space rafareis123 mentioned that maps át 2048 or 4096 could split lightmass. For mé its the structure streaming that's smashing but it obtained me searching at the map size.
